PAMAT-Regional Market Access Head, China-Shanghai
JOB PURPOSE:
RMA China Head role take lead of the development and implementation of access strategy to maximize business potential through market access at regional level, by taking full consideration of both national access policies and differentitated access environment in the region. The role is accountable for strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure strong support to double down on regional implementation under the principles of “One Sanofi” for business priorities with maximized access empowerment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
National and Regional access strategy planning
Lead in the development of the clear, consistent and over-arching access strategy planning,
Identify tailor-made regional tactics to adapt to regional specific access environment for efficient implementation with impact, while staying in line with the overall national access strategy
Ensure the mapping and effectiveness for the key institutional contacts at national level through co-ordination and alignment
Lead the effective elaboration and communication for the access strategy at regional level, such as high-quality value messages and project deployment, regional payer mapping and payer detailing, payer value proposition delivery, networking with key stakeholders, strategic policy advocacy, pricing/commercial deals/negotiation and regional payer access intelligence
Set up strong engagement platform with regional payers, key policy KOLs with the broadest and best-quality coverage to maximize company interests
Regional market access implementation
Lead regional implementation of market access strategy with tailor-made tactics for each region, including establishing and maintaining sound working relationship with provincial listing official for NRDL, as well as ensuring strong implementation of NRDL products landing, such as indications adjustment, band-name list entry, and smooth landing of NVBP winning products
Lead regional MA team to mitigate the risk of local VBP for Sanofi products, as well as maximize NVBP contract renewal
Establish and maintain good working relationship with provincial / city level payers, bureau of health, and relevant access stakeholders. Ensure company's products get introduced in administrative regulations of medicine which is regulated by the mentioned authorities
Assist regional commercial team to accomplish tasks of local government affairs, including confirmation of reimbursement ratio in planning-as-whole regions, bidding policy information, etc.;
Establish and maintain good work relationship with governmental agencies in responsible regions and obtain supports from governmental departments mostly
Policy shaping and monitoring
Proactively monitor external access environment, customer needs and competitor moves to identify opportunities for access defence or improvement, and to contribute and feed insights to further advance Regional MA work with macro-trends
Collect latest policy and information from local government in a timely and accurate manner, and derive insights with business implications to provide suggestions for company decision making
Take responsibility for regional rare disease MA team in regional policy shaping as well as access breakthrough at provincial and/or city level
Cross-functional collaboration and partnerships
Build strategic collaboration with cross-functional teams, to ensure strong support from cross-functions to double down on regional implementation of market access strategy under the principles of “One Sanofi” for collective achievement of business priorities with maximized access empowerment
Manage high-performing team, support talent development within/out of country, and drive capability building in MA areas
JOB-HOLDER REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or above, in medicine, pharmacy or related field is preferred
Experience & knowledge & Competencies:
15+ years working experience in govern ministries or in foreign pharmaceutical companies in similar scope
In-depth understanding of government policies and working styles, and have excellent work relationship with local officials
Strong strategic visions and sound intelligence of the latest healthcare industry trends with holistic picture of China macro-policy evolvement
Strong leadership and organization management skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong influential ability to work successfully in highly matrixed organization
Good capability to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing industry environment and practices
Business integrity and work ethics
Good command of both written and oral English
