The Director, Contract Development & Analytics will be primarily responsible for working with the Account Management and Contract Development & Analytics teams on leading interactions with the National Account Managers (NAM) and their key customers; defining & coordinating implementation of strategy for Large Organized Customers (LOC) & Collaboratives within GPOs; and ad hoc analysis for internal and external customers generated from Sanofi Pasteur's reporting systems. This role is critical to the cross-functional leadership, oversight and implementation of key strategies within a changing and expanding health system marketplace. As the dynamic environment in the healthcare marketplace continues to evolve in increasingly complex directions, there is a need for strong negotiation skills in a complex and stress-filled environment. These negotiations are critical to SP’s success as well to our customers and other business partners.
The core responsibility of this role will be to create, refine and implement contract language with key customers. This will largely focus on leading critical negotiations and managing contractual elements with key customers.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal SP departments (Legal, Market Access, Brand Teams, Account Management, Finance and Pricing and Contract Development) to assess contract risks and benefits.
Provide strategic recommendations/solutions for presentation to Pricing Committee in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Lead interactions and negotiations with key customers to best implement a mutually beneficial contract platform and SP vaccine schedule
Compile, interpret and communicate data to develop new and enhance current strategic national contract platforms. Proactively assess trends from on-going dialogue with NAM team and customers. Ultimately, this position will guide the framework of our strategic positions in the market.
Ensure the timely preparation and capture of all financial proposal objectives, recommendations, and assumptions, along with retrospective accountability analyses.
Manage the timely and accurate preparation, review, approval, and implementation of assigned contract proposals, amendments and extensions.
The person must demonstrate creativity in utilizing tools and finding ways to report information to internal and external customers that most accurately reflects the given situation. The person in this role must manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously and maintain flexibility to adapt to ever-changing requirements. They must be very process oriented and detailed in documentation so as to leave behind clear and concise audit trails.
The key focus of this role is to define and facilitate on-going dialogue and coordination with the NAM team and key customers. This role is responsible for maintaining processes that are consistent with internal controls and government pricing P&Ps. This role is responsible for ongoing review of contract performance and identifying market/segment issues and initial options for platform changes.
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change through complex and business critical decisions in a fast paced environment within timelines
3-5 years of key customer interactions and negotiations; demonstrated ability to negotiate and develop negotiation strategies
3-5 years of analytical experience in reviewing and executing contracts
Ability to utilize common reporting platforms to capture market information, identify key insights and translate into strategy
7+ years of business experience that could be from within or outside of the pharmaceutical/vaccine market. Relevant work experience to include contracting, pricing, analytics, business development or other related disciplines
Strong command of the basics…excellent communication, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, detail oriented, highly organized, work product is accurate and timely
Must be able to work independently, initiate and carry out multiple projects until completion
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field is required with
7-10 years of analytical and business experience and
Fully proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
