About the opportunity
The purpose of the role is to define and drive Sanofi’s global health and commercial interests in priority countries — including Brazil, Turkey, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Argentina, and Mexico – to reinforce Sanofi’s presence through robust partnerships e.g. Memorandums of Understanding, innovative access to medicines programs, while advocating for new and supporting existing policy and commercial objectives. This will also involve leading our direct engagement with regional trade associations, regional global health focused key opinion leaders, decision makers and influencers and regional institutions in the international region (e.g FIFARMA, PAHO, APEC).
The role can be based in Paris, Brussels or any other European hub of Sanofi.
In this role you will:
Define a Sanofi agenda and key priorities for the international region in collaboration with regional business unit heads and Corporate Affairs functions with the objective of driving and support country priorities with regional/ above-country platforms (e.g., PAHO /APEC, Forum of Americas).
Work with countries in the region to build their government affairs and global health capabilities, roll out strategic business priorities (e.g. sustainable procurement, or new access pathways for innovation) and support them in their country issues.
Manage the corporate agenda and ensure a systematic, coherent one Sanofi approach towards those prioritized external partners in the international region PAHO, APEC and regional trade associations such as FIFARMA.
Develop and manage projects’ budget and suitable contracting processes in respect of Sanofi processes.
Respect Sanofi rules of engagement as prescribed by Ethics and Business Integrity.
You will have in-depth knowledge and experience in the following areas:
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in public affairs, advocacy roles in country or regional level and market shaping strategies.
Strong experience developing, implementing and leading multi-stakeholder type partnerships that bring together a diverse set of actors across local, regional and global entities.
Proven track-record in stakeholder engagement, coalition building and development and implementation of campaigns/initiatives triggering policy shift.
Ability to develop a stakeholder engagement plan and carry it through.
Proven experience leading (direct and indirect influencing) of culturally diverse teams.
Ability to get buy-in and align several diverse stakeholders (internally and externally) along a common vision, the strategy and tactics required for execution and the metrics to measure impact.
Understanding of policy-making processes and stakeholders, pharmaceutical and healthcare business, in global, regional, and country level health institutions (focus on the international region, preferably on emerging markets).
Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required. A Post-graduate degree, Doctorate degree or MBA is an advantage.
Languages: English is a must. French, Spanish and any additional language is an advantage.
