•The China Project Head provides leadership to a cross-functional strategic development team for the vaccine development and execution of the Vaccine strategy.
•PH is the key point of communication between the global team and the China team.
•China PH is accountable for the proper execution of the China vaccine roadmap to licensure/launch
•Drive and develop vaccine development strategy/plan in line with the overall global strategy defined by R&D, the country (China) and the International Regulatory and marketing needs
•In the respect of the Global New Vaccine (NV) project and Franchise strategy, as he/she
•reports to China NV Group Portfolio Head
•is Member of the Global Project Team to ensure understanding & alignment of the global vaccine development strategy and priorities.
•works in collaboration with all the Global Project Team members & global functions to develop the China project strategy and timelines.
•ensures integration of the China activities across all local China functions required to meet the China project objectives
•Sets up and leads the China Team to drive the execution of the China activities
•Leads the China team in assessing local project risks, developing risk management/mitigation plans, gaining consensus and support for implementing the plan until successful licensure
•Financial acumen and visibility to project budget
•Ensures that Global team understands and integrates the China needs and specificities.
Education and Experience:
•Strong scientific & academic background with deep understanding of the entire vaccine value chain
•Overall 10 years of experience among which:
•Over 5 years in vaccine field : Ideally, Ph.D. (in a science field), MD or Pharm D. with experience in vaccine development or in other disciplines such as industrial operations, regulatory, marketing, R&D, and project Management.
•Over 3 years in leadership (direct or transversal) role as leader of cross functional team in China in a multicultural & international (global) projects environment
•Thorough knowledge of vaccine or drug development process and familiarity with pharmaceutical portfolio risk management
•Strong understanding of managing budgets, resources, timelines, decisions for complex projects
•Demonstrate knowledge of China environment & regulations, ideally previously exposed to China heath Authorities
•Demonstrated ability to create and maintain efficient connection with global functions (R&D, RA, IA, Commercial, Clinical & medical...) in HQ, when located in a country
•Experience & existing network in Sanofi R&D, RA, Medical, ComOps would be a plus
•Strong problem solving for developing creative solutions and meeting project objectives
•The position requires strong leadership and Good communication skills.
•Demonstrated strong leadership, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to influence and align without clear reporting authority are strongly desired.
•Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking and contingency planning is strongly desired.
