General Mission / Purpose of the position

Within the Global Medical Affairs of GBU DCV, the Medical Manager, Diabetes Solution Projects will:

  • Develop and represent the insulin related disease management/diabetes solutions medical strategy in alignment with the broader cross-portfolio strategy for Integrated Care
  • Perform and act as disease management, patient support program expert for the insulin franchise
  • Support, enhance and execute the medical plan and future strategic planning process for diabetes solutions also as integrated elements of the Integrated Care medical plan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the diabetes solutions data generation plan
  • Design and propose activities to support the team’s mission in insulin therapy
  • Support the team’s head in all diabetes solutions/disease management activities related to the company’s insulin franchise
  • Engage the HCP and patient representative community in a partnership built on collaborative activities in support of the pre-agreed projects
  • Design & lead innovative ideas to support Toujeo and the insulin portfolio and their value in the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  • Support the publication plan for related projects
  • Explore possibilities to leverage the value of patient support programs for insulin treatment (e.g. insulin titration)
  • Interact with the diabetes medical, integrated care, R&D and marketing teams to facilitate and accelerate the execution of priority activities
  • Interact effectively with KOLs to seek advice and discuss study designs and projects

Qualifications / Experience and Key competencies (Technical and Soft)

Education: medical degree; experience with diabetes management is preferred

Experiences and knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience in medical affairs and/or disease management activities, global experience is an  advantage
  • Experience with disease management projects related to diabetes (e.g. insulin pump, blood glucose monitoring devices/CGM, glucometers, insulin delivery systems/pens)
  • Experience in project management and execution preferably also strategic planning
  • Clinical & scientific knowledge in the field of diabetes

  • Some international travelling
